Baller! Huge future! Liverpool fans impressed by 17-year-old against Tranmere

Liverpool defender Ki-Jana Hoever is getting rave reviews from Liverpool fans for his second half appearance against Tranmere Rovers in pre-season.

It may have been Rhian Brewster who picked up all the headlines with two goals and an assist, but it is Ki-Jana Hoever who most impressed the Liverpool fans last night against Tranmere Rovers in the Reds’ first pre-season match.

Liverpool strolled to a 6-0 win at Prenton Park with Nathaniel Clyne, Curtis Jones, Divock Origi and Bobby Duncan all joining Brewster on the scoresheet.

The manager fielded two completely different sides in each half of the match as the team slowly moves back to full fitness.

There were many impressive outings from Liverpool youngsters keen to make the most of the opportunity before the rest of the first team return over the next few weeks.

Ki-Jana Hoever is the one who stood out most, playing right back in the second half. He showed of his strength and speed throughout but it was his technical attributes that really had fans excited.

His wide range of passing was complemented by various flicks and one particularly delicious cross that Trent Alexander-Arnold would have been proud of.

Hoever’s key contribution was in the build up to the sixth goal where he received the ball wide from a raking cross field pass before bursting past the left back, brining it inside and teeing up Paul Glatzel who laid it on for Duncan to score. You can see a full video of his highlights here.

If Hoever continues to impress in pre-season we could well see Clyne sold in the last week or so of the transfer window.
