Liverpool fans are reacting to the news that Nabil Fekir is set to move to La Liga in a £27 million deal and are shocked at the destination.

We all know a Liverpool fan that believes the club will eventually sign Nabil Fekir. Despite that transfer falling through over a year ago many still believe he will end up at Anfield. However we can finally put that one to bed after he is set to complete a £27 million to Spain.

Fekir was one of the hottest names on the transfer market last season so you would expect him to attract interest from the likes of Barcelona, Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid. But it is actually mid-table Real Betis who have snapped him up.

French journalist Romain Collet-Gaudin who works for CanalPlus and Eurosport broke the news on twitter today.

Both the fee and the destination are a surprise to Liverpool fans who have been following him since before his transfer to Merseyside fell through. That debacle saw him famously film an introduction video and take signing day pics only for the deal to be nixed through injury concerns.

Rumors have continued about the Reds going back to Lyon for him after he finished the season without any injury concerns. However the local Liverpool press have been adamant there would be no approach for the World Cup winner.

This transfer could be a double blow for Liverpool fans as it will likely mean Real Betis will sell there in demand Argentine midfielder Giovani Lo Celso to Tottenham Hotspur. There are plenty of reports that Spurs have already agreed terms with player and that transfer is likely to go through quickly now a replacement has been secured.
