Liverpool Football Club unpinned a tweet on Monday and that has been taken as a sign of imminent transfer news. *Face palm*
Is this the bottom? Are we at the nadir of the Liverpool transfer window cycle of rumor, speculation and silly meltdowns? I hope so, but fear not.
Yesterday, Liverpool Football Club – six-time European Cup winners and Jurgen Klopp’s mighty Reds – unpinned a tweet. Yes I know. That deserves no attention whatsoever but these are fallow times for the transfer hungry fan.

For those sensible people who avoid Twitter: a pinned tweet is one from your timeline that you choose to appear at the top of your profile rather than the most recent. For example, on match days the pinned tweet is the team sheet until the game is over.
One fan noticed the club did the very routine – almost daily – act of unpinning a tweet but did not replace it with something else and then speculated that the Reds were about to announce some transfer news.
Over 700 fans decided to like this and it got passed around the fanbase and led to articles like this one about imminent transfers.
In reality it is nothing at all. Much like the entire transfer window for Kopites so far.
For anyone asking, @LFC always remove their pinned tweet prior to announcing something.

The pinned tweet that was removed was only pinned today, and it was the most recent tweet about the US tour, before that it was Origi’s contract extension
The fanbase have been expecting to hear announcement about 16-year-old attacker Harvey Elliott moving to Anfield from Fulham but it appears there are complications in negotiation as the clubs look to avoid a tribunal decision on his fee.
If you have a friend or family who is sensitive to minuscule pieces of transfer information, please check on them today. Give them a hug and a cup of tea and perhaps encourage them to do some meditation. We still have three more weeks of this.
