Liverpool have been priced out of a transfer move for Real Madrid maestro Isco as the La Liga side want £72 million for their Spanish star.

Real Madrid have been pricing up their players with the view to recouping to some of the £300 million they have splashed in the transfer market. They have priced star midfielder Isco at £72 million which will likely price Liverpool out of a transfer move.

The Reds have long been linked to the classy midfielder and the news that he is on the market is bound to spark transfer rumors. However, at 27-years-old, the price tag is too much for a player who would command huge wages and have no resale value.

Many outlets have linked Liverpool to Isco’s midfield teammate Marco Asensio who is also priced at the £72 million mark. But that has been in the context of a swap deal with Sadio Mane but there is no-way the club would sanction the exit of the star.

Real have signed Eden Hazard, Luka Jovic and Rodrygo this summer in a huge revamp of their front line after a hugely disappointing season in front of goal.

Alongside Isco and Asensio they are also looking to sell James Rodriguez, Gareth Bale and Lucas Vazquez to clear out deadwood and make space on the wage bill for another signing – potentially Paul Pogba from Manchester United.

As Liverpool begin their pre-season tour of America they have yet to dip into the transfer market to improve the first team squad. There are only three weeks left of the transfer window and we are hearing no rumors that contain any substance.

It is now likely that Liverpool will not a single player beyond teenagers Sepp van den Berg and (probably) Harvey Elliot. Any move from this point will be a surprise and a very welcome one.
