Liverpool can feel good about the decision to not sign Nabil Fekir last summer as the midfielder agrees a £22 million transfer to Real Betis.
Liverpool Football Club may have proved some doubters wrong this week as previous transfer target Nabil Fekir agrees a move to Real Betis for just £22 million.
French journalist Romain Collet-Gaudin of Canal+ is claiming the deal is agreed and he will move for a fee of between €22-25 million.

The one clause he puts in is that it may be dependent on Real Betis selling Giovani de lo Celso. The Argentinian is wanted by Tottenham Hotspur but the La Liga side is holding out for a fee of around €75 million.
It was only a year ago that Liverpool were set to buy Nabil Fekir before his transfer fell through at the last-minute. Famously there are pictures and videos of him in a Liverpool kit, performing interviews, which were all scrapped when the deal collapsed due to medical concerns.
Many Reds were critical of the club at the time, claiming they were over-cautious with their medical assessment or just down right stingy with the cash.
Fekir stayed fit for most of the last season at Lyon and showed no trouble with his knee that caused the Reds to bail on the deal. That just compounded the criticisms of Liverpool being too wary last summer.

However, with Fekir set to move for half of the fee Liverpool had agreed last year and to a mid-table Spanish side the club look to have proven doubters wrong.
If he was a £45 million player who was clearly healthy then someone bigger than Real Betis would have snapped him up in the last year.
From the current evidence it looks like Liverpool have played this one just right. Another success for Michael Edwards and Jurgen Klopp in the transfer market.
