Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has still got an admirer in spellbound Borussia Dortmund star Marco Reus.

The Reds gaffer worked with Reus when he was manager at Dortmund, and it was Klopp who convinced the attacker to rejoin BVB from Gladbach in 2012.

240 appearances later, 117 goals and 75 assists have proven that Reus made the right call in being swayed by Klopp.

In an interview with Bundesliga.com, the German international recalled when Klopp first tried to recruit him – and mentioned his spellbound reaction.

“Oh my god, Jürgen was such an animal!” said the excited star, who highlighted that one of the manager’s best traits was his ability to develop everyone into a better version of themselves.

That should excite Liverpool fans, who will be able to see the potential of this young and exciting squad that Klopp is working with. As well as the first team pros in the prime of their career, the Reds squad is packed with talented youngsters who need Klopp to push them to bigger and better things.

We all hear about the German’s charisma and his personality, and Reus was quick to add that the gaffer has a special ‘aura’ around him.

“He radiates even when speaking, with his stature, it’s really quite impressive,” continue the Dortmund star.

Klopp’s detractors like to say that he’s all style and no substance, but he established himself as a winner in Germany and now has the Champions League to his name.

A part of building that successful team is down to the gaffer’s personality, which Reus says is electric. In fact, the world class attacker put that down as one of the main reasons he joined Dortmund.

“He brings you under his spell and will not let you go. My heart was racing after we first spoke. He was definitely one of the reasons why I signed,” concluded the forward.
