Liverpool are on the verge of sending Ovie Ejaria out on loan to Reading and Royals fans are over the moon with the news.

The Reds starlet spent the second half of last season with the Championship club, where he impressed supporters over the course of his spell – and the Chronicle are reporting that a deal is ‘close’ to being completed.

Reading fans are very excited about the prospect of seeing Ejaria at the Madejski Stadium for a full campaign, while this move could be another step on the way for Liverpool supporters to finally see the midfielder play more regularly at Anfield.

After handing Ejaria his first team debut in 2016, manager Jurgen Klopp decided to give the England youth international eight appearances before sending him out on loan to Sunderland and Rangers.

However, there is some conflicting news about the deal. The Echo has written that Klopp doesn’t want another loan deal for the starlet but is prepared to sanction a permanent move away.

Brentford have tabled a  £3.5 million bid that includes a sell-on clause and add-ons, and this is the type of figure that would secure a transfer for Ejaria.

Klopp is happy to use the youngster as a cup player and reinforce the U23 side with him, wrote the Echo, and isn’t in a hurry to see him move on loan once again.

That news will disappoint those Reading fans who took to Twitter to call Ejaira ‘brilliant’ as well as ‘understated but quality’.

He played 16 times for the Royals after cutting short his time at Rangers and scored one goal but grabbed two assists.

The 21-year-old is at a bit of a career crossroads now as he figures out the best path for his development. First team chances at Liverpool are low, but maybe it’s a little early to be cutting ties with Ejaria just yet.
