New Liverpool signing Adrián has fans hyped with five words from his first interview with the club after his free transfer today.
Liverpool made a signing today – an actual transfer move for a player who isn’t a teenager. They picked up former West Ham goalkeeper Adrián on a free transfer.
The Spaniard will operate as the backup to Alisson Becker after Simon Mignolet was sold to Club Brugge earlier today for a fee of £6.4 million with £2.1 million of further add-ons.

However, the 32-year-old stopper is not content to simply warm the bench and collect a check. He has a desire to push for the first team. As he says in his first interview with the official Liverpool site: “I come here to fight”.
Those five words are a great encouragement to fans who want to see the continuation of competition and excellence that Jurgen Klopp has instilled into every facet of this squad.
Speaking about Alisson the new signing said:
“He’s a great keeper. He’s doing very well. His first season with Liverpool was magnificent. I come here to have a competition with him, a positive competition that helps us to improve. The competition makes us better and I’m looking forward to working with him and the goalkeeping staff”.
He makes it very clear that he wants to push for the No.1 position. That is a huge task with the Brazilian stopper picking up the Golden Glove awards in the Premier League, Champions League and Copa America in a single season.
Love him already

While many will think Adrián won’t have a hard time keeping up with Simon Mignolet on the pitch he will have to step it up off of it. The Belgian received much praise last season for his fantastic attitude despite not playing regularly.
If Adrián can match that attitude this season Jurgen Klopp will be a very happy manager.
