Former Liverpool star Daniel Sturridge is wanted by 13 clubs but nobody is prepared to offer him a Premier League return.

Sturridge was released by the Reds at the end of his contract and the Daily Mail has reported that his days playing in England are over.

There is a lot of interest in the 29-year-old from sides around the world, including the US and Turkey. Fenerbahce, Trabzonspor and Besiktas all want the forward – while the former are prepared to pay him £60,000 a week on a three-year deal.

Liverpool ended their association with Sturridge after his contract expired this summer, at the same time they also let Alberto Moreno leave for nothing.

While Moreno picked up a club nearly instantly, a playing ban for a betting offence has meant that Sturridge started 2019/2020 on the back foot and is trying to make up for lost time now.

After scoring 77 goals and creating 30 others in 218 Premier League appearances, it looks like the former England striker will be the latest Brit to try his luck with teams abroad.

As well as those Turkish sides, there is also interest from across the top five European leagues as Marseille, Frankfurt, Real Betis and Atalanta have all ‘expressed an interest’ in signing Sturridge – said the Daily Mail.

DC United could be the MLS option if the forward seeks to spend a few years in America, and could be welcomed by Wayne Rooney if he can move their before Rooney leaves for Derby County in January.

This marks a serious decline in Sturridge’s career, at a point where he should be at the peak of his powers. Under Brendan Rodgers it felt like Liverpool would have a 20-goal-a-season man on their hands for as long as they could keep him, but injuries have robbed the Reds of that.
