Liverpool were right to avoid a transfer for Christian Pulisic as his early struggles at Chelsea indicate the Reds’ thinking was correct.
For a long time, Liverpool Football Club were the favorites to sign USA sensation Christian Pulisic. But instead he moved to Chelsea last summer, a transfer the Reds were smart to avoid.
Almost from the minute Jurgen Klopp arrived at Anfield in 2015, Pulisic was linked to an Anfield move. He was just 17-years-old at the time but was regarded as one of the most talented teenagers in world football.

Klopp had recently brought him to Borussia Dortmund and many had predicted the German manager would return to his former club with a big transfer fee for their young prodigy.
However the fees quoted were huge for a player without any first team experience and the transfer was put on the back burner, despite regular positive comments from the manager about the player and a future move.
Therefore it was a little surprising that the club showed no intention at all in buying the American when Chelsea made their move in January to secure him in the summer. At just over £50 million it was expected that Klopp would be in the mix for the signing.
In the wake of his move to Stamford Bridge, respected Liverpool journalist Melissa Reddy revealed the three reasons Klopp passed on him: Stunted development, limited opportunities and predicted minimal impact. All of which are being confirmed in his first few months in the Premier League.
The rumors are now that Klopp will instead move for the man who ousted Pulisic from the first team at BVB; Jadon Sancho. One transfer to watch carefully in the next 12 months.
