Liverpool are involved in transfer rumors of a move for Timo Werner as Red Bull Leipzig are linked to a replacement striker in the next window.
Liverpool Football Club are in the transfer rumor swirl for Timo Werner as his club Red Bull Leipzig are being linked to a high-profile replacement.
The Mirror reported – and then republished by the club’s official site – that Timo Werner has a release fee in his contract set at just €30 million.

That seems very low and likely has some clauses with it such as only to a certain list of clubs or if RB Leipzig fail to meet Champions League. But the inclusion of the release fee immediately sparked rumors that Liverpool may be a destination in future transfer windows, even as early as next summer.
Since he signed that deal there has been no further developments on the rumors of his departure to Anfield. But not Leipzig are being linked to the Reds’s Champions League opponent Erling Haaland of Red Bull Salzburg.
The Norwegian prodigy has been drawing rave reviews since bursting on to the scene this season. A hattrick on his Champions League group debut prompted interest from Barcelona, Juventus and Manchester United.
However, Bleacher Report believe Haaland could first make a move between the Red Bull sides; they have the same ownership and a history of players making the transition between the two, including Naby Keita who ended up on Merseyside.
If Leipzig secure a move for Haaland then that will send speculation that Werner is set to leave, with Liverpool leading the odds for the German to join Jurgen Klopp at Anfield.
There is plenty of expectation that Klopp will make a big move or two in the transfer market next summer after doing very little business this time around. Werner would be a fantastic addition to the manager’s attacking options.
