Liverpool star forward Roberto Firmino told former Manchester United ace Roy Keane to get lost and is it absolutely everything.

Keane was speaking before the Reds played United on Sunday, said the Echo, and criticized modern footballers for chatting to the opposition ahead of the clash.

“I’m disgusted with the players,” bristled Keane. “They’re hugging and kissing,” he thundered, his rage growing by the second.

“Don’t even look at the opposition,” he screeched. This is not football, this is war and Keane was getting more worked up for ‘battle’ then the men standing in the tunnel ready to go out and do it.

But Roberto Firmino wasn’t having a bar of that criticizm and anger. The Brazilian displayed a silver tongue that shimmied and swayed like a samba dancer as he sought to bring things down to a reasonable level and put Roy Keane back in his place as quick as possible.

“I don’t want to create controversy,” ESPN Brasil reported that he said. Smooth Bobby, that’s already one point to you in the battle of claim and counter-claim.

“I find it quite normal before the game to greet each other,” continued Firmino, rapidly gaining points and bringing a strange level of calm to the rant.

“But on the pitch, they aren’t friends,” Bobby finished Keane off with, picking apart his argument in three brutal sentences that grew into a glorious cacophony that essentially told the Irishman to get lost.

Firmino was saying hello to his mates Fred and Andreas Pereira, and if we’re honest those aren’t the most threatening names to come out of Manchester. And anyone who watched the game couldn’t accuse any of them of going in soft against their pals, whoever they may be.

These are professional footballers who are going to try and get the game done. Some operate differently to others, and that’s okay. Not everyone is blood and thunder and fury 24/7, although that seems to suit Keane down to the ground.
