Liverpool have been given a little boost in their pursuit of the Premier League title after Man City star midfielder Rodri has been ruled out for at least a month.

It looks like it will be another close season between Liverpool and Man City in the Premier League. Therefore every little injury and setback could have big consequences. Which is why the news that Rodri will miss a month or more is a big blow for City.

The Citizen’s record signing was injured int he Champions League this week against Atalanta when he hurt his hamstring. That injury will cause him to miss at least a month according to Simon Bajkowski of the Manchester Evening News.

Most crucially they have confirmed he will miss the fixture with Liverpool on 10th November as well as putting in jeopardy his availability to play against Chelsea. Bajowski writes:

“The club’s doctors have told the manager that he should be fit again after the international break. That would see him miss the Liverpool game but he could return for the home match with Chelsea on November 23.”

Rodri has been playing at center back in the last two fixtures due to an injury crisis among Man City defenders. Aymeric Laporte is out for the new year and neither John Stones or Nicolas Otamendi were fit to play in the last week.

That pair should return for the Premier League game against Aston Villa this weekend but the club have also ruled out left back Aleks Zinchenko for four to six weeks according to the same report.
