Many nicknames and one undropable player
There are loads of different ways to skin a cat and Liverpool midfielder Fabinho has proven that with his fine array of nicknames.
The Brazilian has been a vital part of the Reds effort this season and manager Jurgen Klopp is remarkably reluctant to leave him out.
Liverpool are blessed with a fine and varied squad depth. James Milner, Jordan Henderson and Georginio Wijnaldum provide solidarity and experience in the engine room, while Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Naby Keita bring dynamism and unpredictability to the mix.
Adam Lallana can also provide an option at the base of the three or as an advanced playmaker, but he’s less likely to be featured than the others already mentioned.

But the more Fabinho plays the less likely Klopp seems to leave the former AS Monaco man out. And the more he plays, the more nicknames we make up for the Brazilian because he doesn’t seem to have a bad day.
First there was the Octopus. It’s standard and we like it. Fabinho does sometimes play like he’s got eight limbs, all stretching this way and that to nick the ball off unsuspecting attackers and ruin pretty patterns of play.
And then Inspector Gadget came along and this one is broadly center along the same lines. The Brazilian has these extendable arms and legs that get in the way of everything and ruin lives (metaphorically) for 90 minutes.
But Klopp has a new one for Fab now, and this must be something he’s picked up off the training ground or one of the other British team membership. According to the official club website, Fabinho is now referred to as ‘Dyson’.
The gaffer made the reference without batting an eyelid during the post-match press conference after the Tottenham win too, which is a bit mischievous if you ask me.
So there you go. Many nicknames and one undroppable player. Fabinho, never change.
