Liverpool opinion: Andy Robertson injury is a bigger loss than Mohamed Salah

Liverpool are waiting on injury news from Andy Robertson and Mohamed Salah but it is the Scottish full back who will be the bigger loss of the two.
Liverpool fans are facing the news that two of their stars are injury concerns for the Premier League matchup with Crystal Palace next weekend; Andy Robertson and Mohamed Salah.
While the Egyptian forward is a global star and the most valuable player at the club in sheer dollar amount, it is the Scottish captain who will be the bigger loss to Jurgen Klopp if he is forced with a spell on the sidelines.

Obviously I don’t want either of them to miss any time whatsoever, but the team will cope better with Salah missing rather than Robertson.
There is no specific left back cover for Robertson in the squad. The two first team options to cover for him are James Milner and Joe Gomez. Both have played there before but neither are naturally suited to the role.
In the reserves is Adam Lewis and Yasser Larouci, neither have played a minute of first team football to date.
The Reds can cope better missing Salah. Club legend Divock Origi is always willing to go and could play on the left with Sadio Mane shifting to the right. The manager could also employ Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain on the right if he didn’t want to move Mane.
Salah was missing when Liverpool beat Barcelona 4-0 at Anfield back in May in the Champions League semi-final victory.
Klopp’s system is better suited to losing one of the forwards. The full backs have become key areas of creativity and pressure on opposition teams. If we have to lose either Robertson or Trent Alexander-Arnold then they have to change the way they play down an entire flank, throwing the balance of the team off. That is not the case with Salah.
Robertson is the only first team player without an obvious understudy. Let’s hope both those ankle injuries are not serious and they both trot out at Palace next Saturday.
