Takumi Minamino transfer guarantees January exit for Liverpool forward
By David Gate
Liverpool have bagged the signing of Takumi Minamino from Red Bull Salzburg spelling an almost certain January exit for Rhian Brewster.
Liverpool are set to make Red Bull Salzburg attacker Takumi Minamino a Red after agreeing a transfer for the Japanese international. However, that may help guarantee a January exit for Rhian Brewster.
Melissa Reddy of the Independent is reporting that the club have met the £7.25 million asking price for Minamino and a deal has been agreed for him to arrive at Anfield in January.

The forward has been hugely impressive in both his side’s matchups with Liverpool in the Champions League and has been the consensus best Salzburg player against Jurgen Klopp’s men.
The bargain transfer deal will have knock on consequences for some members of the Liverpool squad including Harry Wilson – who could make his loan move to Bournemouth permanent and essentially fund the Minamino transfer.
Rhian Brewster is the other player who could be directly affected by Minamino’s arrival. It has been reported that the English youngster is available for loan in January and having another attacker ahead of him in the pecking order only increases his chances of leaving.
Brewster was left out of both the senior squad and Under-19s as they both faced Salzburg this week. That is bad news for the striker who is desperate for more first team minutes to aid his development.
He will likely feature in the Carabao Cup for Liverpool against Aston Villa next week and that could well be the last time Kopites see him this season.
The club have proven before with players like Jordan Ibe and Dominic Solanke that they are more than willing to sell young talent if a sizable offer comes in. It is not out of the question that Brewster could be sold in January if a club is willing to take a gamble.
