Liverpool have made some stellar transfers in the 2010s and we’ve ranked the top 10 moves LFC have made over the course of the decade.

Liverpool have had a very mixed decade in the transfer market. The first half of the 2010s were filled with mistakes but with a few gems sprinkled in. The second half has been almost unqualified success.

Under Jurgen Klopp and Michael Edwards the Reds have become one of the smartest operators in the transfer market. The efficient use of the club’s resources has been one of the key factors in the Reds rising again to the top of the Premier League and Europe.

There are many factors that going to determine if a transfer is ‘best’. We’ve prioritized them by putting financial value and on-pitch impact near the top.

That means you won’t see Alisson Becker or Virgil van Dijk on this list. Their record-breaking transfers are relatively fresh and were *huge* financial deals. I’m sure we will argue about the ‘value’ of those moves for years to come if the Reds stack up more trophies in their tenure.

We’ve already argued that van Dijk is the best player to play for the club this decade but right now, he and Alisson represent even value for money. Remember you can’t criticize Man City for spending huge amounts on the best players but then forget when we do the same!

This is about the players who have come to the club and far outstripped expectations relative the amount the club paid for them (or didn’t pay for them for two on the list). Which means there may be one or two players who are no longer fondly remembered… like this one for example…
