This week’s video is from the 2-0 victory over Watford at the weekend. Midway through the video something happens that keen watchers of these segments have seen many times before; the half time sprint.
As the team are strolling into the dressing room at half time, the manager is itching to release all that pent-up energy and give the team his thoughts for the second half.
Jurgen Klopp doesn’t just saunter into the tunnel. There is no trot or even a jog. It is a full-blown sprint from the 52-year-old boss as he bolts to the dressing room. And he does it EVERY week.
You can see it at the 8:02 mark on this week’s video:
Here is Klopp unleashing the full stride at half time of the Merseyside derby at the 9:12 mark. My favorite is from the Carabao Cup win against Arsenal in the 5-5 penalty shoot out thriller where the tunnel is full of people but that doesn’t slow Klopp down. Instead he zigs and zags past them at full speed. You can see it here at the 8:50 minute mark.
We will see if Neil Critchley will follow the boss’ example against Aston Villa tonight in the Carabao Cup. Or indeed if Klopp will break out the sprint in the warmer climate of Qatar in the World Club Cup game tomorrow.
