Liverpool have announced the signing of Takumi Minamino in the January transfer window with a ballsy video of his exploits against the Reds.

Liverpool have their man. The club announced today that Takumi Minamino will join the Reds for £7.25 million in the January transfer window after the player agreed terms and passed his medical.

However, many fans have been impressed with the gutsy video Liverpool have used to promote the signing on social media.

The Reds have compiled a minute long montage of all his best moments against the Reds in the Champions League group game for Red Bull Salzburg.

The video shows him scoring and assisting plus numerous examples of excellent technique and movement. Most impressive of all is the number of clips where he wins the ball; a crucial quality for players under Jurgen Klopp.

It is a bold move to release a video of a new signing dominating the current players. There is a calm assurance at the club now and this confident announcement is a sign of that.

My favorite parts of the video are the clips of Klopp reacting to Takumi Minamino scoring. He clearly seems impressed – almost amused. Did he know then the club were trying to sign him or was this the moment when the idea was hatched?

After impressing for Red Bull Salzburg in the Champions League, many teams were snooping around the Japanese star but he only wanted to come to Anfield.

James Carroll of the official LFC site quotes Takumi Minamino as saying:

"“It has been a dream, my dream to become a Liverpool player. And I’m so excited that the moment has come true.”"

Minamino may not be the only piece of business Liverpool conclude in January as the club are rumored to be leading the race to sign Coventry City left back Sam McCallum.
