Liverpool have highlighted their next two transfer targets as Emiliano Buendia and Jamal Lewis according to reports in The Athletic.

There is little hope that Liverpool will do much in the January transfer window but the club are already making plans for the summer with Jamal Lewis and Emiliano Buendia as targets according to reports.

Michael Bailey of The Athletic claims the Reds are interested in the Norwich City pair for summer moves as the club looks to continue their trend of picking up end-of-season bargains.

Lewis has impressed at left back this season and at 21-years-old is an ideal candidate to come int to provide cover for Andy Robertson while Klopp develops the Northern Ireland international

Buendia has become highly coveted in his first season in the Premier League after impressing in the Championship last term. This campaign he has created more chances for teammates than any other player in the league apart from Kevin de Bruyne.

While he is yet to score this season he has provided seven assists and at just 23-years-old is exactly the kind of player the Reds love to target; especially if Norwich get relegated.

Jurgen Klopp has hoovered up top talent from relegated clubs during every summer transfer window he has been in charge at Anfield.

In 2016 he picked up Gini Wijnaldum from Newcastle who has since become one of the best midfielders in Europe. The following summer he nabbed Robertson from relegated Hull City.

His 2018 bargain was Xherdan Shaqiri as he took advantage of a relegation  transfer release clause. The trend continued last summer when the Reds picked up 16-year-old wonderkid Harvey Elliott from Fulham.

Liverpool have snagged the signing of Takumi Minamino in this transfer window but there is no chance that Norwich will want to let either Emiliano Buendia or Jamal Lewis leave mid-season as they fight relegation.
