Liverpool: Latest news leads to spike in Kylian Mbappe transfer rumors
By David Gate
Liverpool fans cannot move online for finding fresh rumors linking PSG forward Kylian Mbappe to an Anfield transfer.
If you are a Liverpool fan, you can barely go two minutes online without seeing a Kylian Mbappe transfer rumor. Two pieces of latest news has only increased the frequency and frenzy of the speculation.
The Reds have long been linked to a move for the French World Cup winner. Before his shift from Monaco to PSG in 2017 the Reds were interested but at that moment they neither had the money, or the clout, to lure such a talent.

But things are different now. Two consecutive Champions League final appearances plus being World Club Cup holders is far more appealing to the world’s top stars.
Plus the level of quality and camaraderie at the club under Jurgen Klopp is the envy of players, fans and opponents all over the world.
And Liverpool have the cash. The recently confirmed kit manufacturing deal Nike has taken the likelihood of Mbappe moving to Anfield from ‘Highly unlikely’ to ‘You know what? Maybe.’
The US sportswear giant did not offer as much cash as New Balance leading many fans to speculate that a ‘Nike brand’ athlete would end up arriving in Merseyside as well – Mbappe and Jadon Sancho are the most speculated players.
Mbappe’s comments about his contract situation at PSG only pour gasoline on the bonfire. Rhys Daly of the Express quotes the 21-year-old phenomenon as saying:
"”This is not the time to talk about this, this is the time to play football, there are many deadlines, I just want to focus on the season.”The youngster was then pressed on the situation with his current deal running out in June 2022, but refused to give a clear answer. He added: ”My will is simply to play football, focus on the season."
Every indicator is that he want to leave the French capital. The question is will Liverpool rival Real Madrid for the signature and pull off a the kind of bank breaking transfer Reds thought they would never see?
