Liverpool regain their 16 point lead at the top of the Premier League after beating Wolves 2-1 in a tough game. Here are the player ratings.

That makes it 40 games unbeaten. But it was anything but straight forward. Liverpool beat Wolves in the Premier League 2-1 in perhaps the Reds hardest game this season.

Jurgen Klopp rolled with the same eleven that beat Manchester United 2-0 at the weekend with an FA Cup tie against Shrewsbury at the weekend as a perfect opportunity to rest players.

More from Rush The Kop

The manager decided to hold Fabinho back on the bench despite him being back in full contention for a starting place.

The Reds asserted their strength in the first half with Jordan Henderson’s header from Trent Alexander-Arnold’s corner giving the side another set piece goal.

Wolves have been formidable in the second half this season and they followed that pattern, equalizing through Jimenez and looked the most likely side to win the game.

But Liverpool have quality throughout this side and confidence to burn. When the chance came for Roberto Firmino to score with five minutes to go he rifled in his shot to the top corner. The win streak and unbeaten run continue. Ten more games to beat the Arsenal unbeaten record and to win the league. Up the Reds!
