Liverpool fans have got split opinions over the latest news about a £30 million transfer deal in the making.
I won’t beat around the bush here, it involved Harry Wilson. It always bloody involves Harry Wilson, somewhere down the line.
He’s been a bit of a golden child for a while now and, in many ways, is the poster boy for the homegrown brigade. The Welsh international is a rare commodity, too. A local lad who scores goals and has worked his way up the levels to the Premier League.
Since that breakthrough half-a-season at Hull City, there have been calls for Wilson to be given a chance in the Liverpool first team. But Jurgen Klopp sent him away to Derby County.

Goals followed, the noise grew louder. Klopp send him away to Bournemouth.
Goals followed, the noise grew louder. Then the goals stopped, the noises changed and things developed at Anfield.
Now a £30 million move away from Merseyside could be on offer, wrote Football Insider, to make room in the senior squad for Curtis Jones and so the cycle keeps on going.
Some fans have called Michael Edwards a genius if he manages to pull off a deal of that scale for someone with less than a season of top flight football under his belt, others have criticized the hasty nature of the transfer and want Wilson to be given the chance to earn his stripes on Merseyside.
Wilson hasn’t had a bad season with the Cherries and has hit seven goals in 21 appearances. Getting to double figures would be a tremendous achievement, but at 22-years-old he needs regular first team football and the Wales international won’t get that with Liverpool.
He’s get cups games, the odd Champions League minute and a start here or there around Christmas or when Mohamed Salah is injured. Even if Xherdan Shaqiri leaves, Wilson will be hard pressed for minutes.
Jones is versatile, can do more and is younger. The squad will be well stocked even if the Welshman leaves, but it would be a departure that divides opinion.
