Kirkby and Anfield: Liverpool march forward while giants sleep
Liverpool are marching forward while the giants of the league sleep thanks to their work on Kirkby and Anfield.
Manchester United are letting Old Trafford fall into disrepair while Ed Woodward continues his mission of keeping the Red Devils away from Champions League football for us long as possible, Newcastle United are falling further and further away from their former status with every passing season and Arsenal are in perennial decline.
Everton… well, bless them. Lets be kind and not mention the near half-a-billion that was spent just so they could lose to our kids in the FA Cup.
But at Liverpool, change is afoot and progress is being made at breakneck speed. On the pitch, things are the best they’ve ever been thanks to the maniacal perfection of Jurgen Klopp and the team.

Off it, there are more upgrades than we could shake a stick at as the Kirkby upgrade is due to be completed before the start of next season and plans to turn Anfield into a 61,000 seat stadium have been announced.
Fenway Sports Group kopped a lot of grief when they first took over Liverpool, but they can’t seem to put a foot wrong now. While the giants of the league are sleeping, the Reds are working harder than they ever have to ensure 2020 is a decade of dominance.
Tottenham Hotspur might have opened their new stadium, and West Ham moved to an ‘upgraded one’, but these London sides are suffering an identity crisis off the pitch and poor results on it.
Chelsea have a young manager and seem to have reverted to type by trying to sign every winger under the sun, Manchester City have let the pressure get to them a bit too much, United we’ve mentioned. The competition really isn’t doing much, bar Leicester City, who always face the prospect of getting picked apart every summer.
So while the gap on the field widens, Liverpool are doing everything in their power to make sure it widens off it. If the competition isn’t careful, they’ll wake up from their slumber to find a landscape so changed they barely recognize it at all.
