Liverpool transfer target Timo Werner wants to feel the love with Jurgen Klopp and that could lead to a summer transfer.
At least that’s what Raphael Honigstein talked about on his Steilcast podcast as they discussed the future of the RB Leipzig striker. It looked like it would be pointing towards Bayern Munich, but the Bavarian outfit chose not to sign him and that annoyed Werner.
But the German giants could still be interested in the 23-year-old, who has 20 goals in 22 league appearances this season, because he ticks a number of boxes – said the podcast.
Timo Werner is a local, he’s the best and he could be a long-term replacement to Robert Lewandowski. But there could be a problem, and that could let Liverpool in.

There has been loads of media speculation about the two. Just today the Independent ran a story saying there had been no contact in regards to a transfer, while the Express also said that Jurgen Klopp has doubts about the move.
But there have also been stories saying Liverpool are closing in on a big money move for the striker.
After all this, it would be so football if Timo Werner just stayed at Leipzig and helped them to reach their Bundesliga and Champions League goals.
Liverpool do have one thing going for them, and that’s Klopp. The forward had his reservations over a move to the Premier League, but the fact that Klopp speaks German is a big plus point.
Last summer the German didn’t want to think about the English top flight because it was a foreign league and he was still young, said Steilcast, but now things have changed. Werner is more mature, less keen on Bayern and Klopp has shown Werner that he ‘likes him, he wants him.’
And that has warmed Werner towards the Liverpool cause. He just wants to feel the love from Klopp, and that is a big pulling point.
