Liverpool handed rival injury boost ahead of busy schedule
Liverpool have been handed an injury boost by one of their rivals ahead of a busy schedule.
SI.com have reported that Chelsea will be without N’Golo Kante for the game against the Reds after he suffered an injury against Manchester United.
Kane was subbed off after just 12 minutes as the Red Devils managed a VAR assisted victory over Frank Lampard’s side. The publication has written that the French midfielder will be out for around three weeks, which would rule him out for the Liverpool clash.
The former Leicester star will be a huge miss, especially against Jurgen Klopp’s side. Kante is an expert at closing down the spaces, breaking up play and springing forward to launch attackers.

Against the massed forces of our midfield, those skills can’t be easily replicated and certainly not by Jorginho, Mateo Kovacic and a barely fit Ruben Loftus-Cheek.
The Chelsea game will come after two fixtures against relegation candidates Watford and West Ham – fixtures Liverpool should be coming back with a fairly routine win. Lampard’s team will be a different unit, though, even if they have struggled for form this season.
Jordan Henderson could be a worry after limping out of the Atletico Madrid game on Tuesday night. Henderson has led the side magnificently and deserves all of the plaudits coming his way – and has even been allowed to freedom to get forward and provide goals and assists.
Klopp will want to bounce back from the loss in Madrid with a performance that shows they’re back in the business of beating big teams. The Chelsea game will provide a massive test of that – despite their struggles they’re still a good side with players who can make a difference in all areas.
Klopp has to wait until Monday to face the Hammers, who take on Manchester City on Wednesday night in their rearranged game.
