Former Liverpool goalkeeper Simon Mignolet has learned from Alisson and grabbed an assist against Manchester United in the Europa League.
The Belgian has clearly been keeping an eye on the Reds because he decided he’d repeat our trick of scoring as the result of a well placed goal kick.
As Alisson did against Man Utd, Mignolet thought he’d do the same as he smacked one downfield for Emmanual Dennis to latch on to and score with a deft chip.
It must be said, Sergio Romero didn’t cover himself in glory nor did the two defenders back on the half way line. If that had happened if your Sunday league side, someone would have been on the receiving end of the hairdryer at half-time.

Maybe this is the super secret way to score loads of goals against United? Just smash it up there and watch them mess it up so badly it gives you a golden opportunity to hit the back of the net.
What Romero was trying to achieve by being stranded about 10 yards outside his box will never be answered but it’s an entertaining watch for any fan of Simon Mignolet or Liverpool. Alisson pioneered it, Migs sold it to the masses.
Tasty.
And, as an added bonus, you can watch it here. We aren’t allowed to embed them in articles or I’ll get in bother from the copyright people, which is annoying.
Sadly, Anthony Martial did manage to grab one back as the Red Devils left Belgium with a 1-1 draw against a club who could only dream of having the resources of their opponents. The fact that Man Utd are scraping around for draws in the Europa League is a sharp indication of their decline.
Let’s hope it takes forever for them to be back on their perch.
