Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has confirmed that goalkeeper Alisson will miss tomorrow’s clash against Bournemouth due to an injury.

One of the best keepers in the world, the Brazilian international has been in fine form for the Reds over the past couple of months, keeping ten clean sheets in his last 13 Premier League matches.

However, Klopp has confirmed that Alisson will miss tomorrow’s match against the Cherries due to a muscle injury at Anfield but didn’t say anything regarding it’s extent. Speaking to Liverpool’s official website, the 52-year-old said:

“Unfortunately Ali is out. He had a little incident in training before the Chelsea game. We all thought it was nothing and it was clear he would not play anyway, the plan was he was on the bench.”

The German confirmed he’d suffered a small problem in his hip and will definitely miss this game on Saturday before they assess to see if the Brazilian will be away for any longer than that. Of course, this brings up the huge issue of the Atletico Madrid game next week. We do not want Adrian in goal for that.

This is not the first time Alisson has been injured this season as he sustained a calf injury during the Premier League opener against Norwich that saw him being sidelined for a couple of months.

The last few days have been forgettable for Liverpool and us fans as the club suffered back to back defeats against Watford and Chelsea. Things have gotten even worse now that Alisson has been injured and this is a major worry ahead of the Champions League second leg against Atletico Madrid.

Adrian did well for the team in the past but when you’re up against a pretty tough team in a Champions League knockout with a goal down, it’s always better to have your first choice goalie.

dark. Next. Winning the Premier League isn’t good enough

With only a few days left before the clash, the odds of Alisson being back seem low. We can now only hope for the Brazilian to manage to be fit for the Atleti fixture.

Adrian didn’t have a good outing against Chelsea and will be looking to put in a good performance against Bournemouth tomorrow.
