The screeching hysteria surrounding Adrian being called into the Liverpool side for the Bournemouth game because of injury to Alisson just ain’t it.

This chat around the Spaniard and the fear regarding his resumption of duties in the first team just isn’t a bit of me, and I’ll tell you why.

One bad performance doesn’t make a bad player. If that was the case, we could have written off Alisson within his first month with Liverpool. And yes, Adrian made a bad mistake against Chelsea in the FA Cup but that doesn’t mean his ability has just disappeared.

You’ve got the remember that the former West Ham man is an experienced stopper with some excellent shot saving ability as well as finely tuned reflexes.

And also, it’s worth having a little look at the history between these two sides. Bournemouth haven’t scored a goal against Liverpool in the last FIVE matches. That’s an incredible stat, and they have Harry Wilson and David Brooks missing while Ryan Fraser has yet to hit top form.

Once Alisson has gone down injured, there are always going to be those who worry. And yes, the Brazilian’s absence is a big miss. The way he carries the ball out from the back, spreads the play and uses his positioning sense to stop danger before it reaches the box is vital for Liverpool.

Adrian doesn’t have that.

But Jurgen Klopp is clever enough and the players around the goalkeeper good enough to make sure those deficiencies aren’t highlighted too much.

And remember, the Spaniard did well while Alisson was out with his achilles injury and won plaudits all around. So let’s bin the hysteria, the shreeching and get behind the goalkeeper – who has already proven himself time and time again for Liverpool over the course of the season.
