Leroy Sane or Adama Traore? Who is the better addition to Liverpool’s squad

Despite football being put on hold, the transfer rumours haven’t stopped for Liverpool or for other clubs.

Liverpool were linked to Wolves winger Adama Traore with Football Insider claiming that they were interested in the 24-year-old. However, Danny Mills recently said that the Reds should try to sign someone like Manchester City attacker Leroy Sane.

Jurgen Klopp need to sign a winger or two in order to add some more depth to their attack and both of the aforementioned players would be solid additions. But who out of the two would be a better bringing in?

While Sane has missed almost the entirety of the season so far due to an injury he sustained during the Community Shield, Traore has made quite a name for himself in 2019/20.

The Wolves winner has netted six goals and ten assists in 43 appearances across all competitions and has been a key player for Nuno Espirito Santo’s side who are currently 6th in the Premier League table.

Both Sane and Traore are extremely quick wingers, a trait that is an integral part of Klopp’s style of play. However, the former seems a better addition to Liverpool’s squad compares to the latter and I’ll tell you why.

Firstly, while Traore’s goal and assist tally don’t seem very good for a world-class winger, he has shown that he is capable of becoming a top player in the future because of his . However, in terms of quality, the 24-year-old still needs to improve if he is to play for a high-profile club like Liverpool.

Sane on the other hand has established himself as one of the best wingers in the world over the past few seasons. He has been a key player for Man City since joining them Schalke in 2016, amassing 39 goals and 45 assists in 134 appearances across all competitions so far. Sane is a world-class player who will only become better in the upcoming years.

Adama Traore’s pace, power, and ability indicates that he could become a player who would be feared by the opposition and he could bolster Liverpool’s squad. However, if the Reds were to sign someone, I’d go for Leroy Sane above him because his performances have been more convincing.

However, the odds of Liverpool signing Traore look higher because the German international might not want to join the team unless either of Mohamed Salah or Sadio Mane leave as he may not be a frequent starter.
