Who is Liverpool transfer target Ferran Torres?
Liverpool have been linked with a transfer for Valencia starlet Ferran Torres, but who is the Spanish U21 international and why is he making waves?
Borussia Dortmund, Manchester City and Manchester United could all challenge Liverpool for the player, said the Daily Mail.
It has been reported that Michael Edwards could see Ferran Torres as an alternative to Jadon Sancho, while Dortmund want the Spaniard to replace the man who England international.
And Liverpool could get him for much cheaper than Sancho would cost – despite the massive clause Valencia put in his contract to ward off suitors.

Marca reported that his €100 million release clause will be worthless as the forward’s deal is due to run out in 2021, giving the club a stark choice of selling now or facing losing their prize asset for nothing.
But who is he, and why might Liverpool be casting their eye toward the starlet?
Torres is a left-footed inside forward who operates on the right wing in the same sort of style as Mohamed Salah and he’s an important part of the way Valencia attack. According to Smarter Scout, he’s involved in more than 60% of their moves that end in goals and has four goals and four assists this campaign.
However, the Spaniard is a lightweight defender and that will count against the forward. Jurgen Klopp wants the front three to be a first line of defence, and Torres would struggle with those instructions.
Smarter Scout has his disruption and recovery score at 12 and 3/99 – very low scores. That seems to indicate that Liverpool and Ferran Torres wouldn’t be an ideal fit.
However, he does push forward into the box well and is a strong dribbler, while is finishing ability is above average.
This is a young player who will be available for less than his worth when the transfer window opens again, but there are several parts of his game that would need to be improved on if Klopp is going to take a punt on Torres.
