Liverpool defender Virgil van Dijk sparks fear inside the elite forward in the game today, two of them have confessed.

We’ve all known that Liverpool have got a monster on their hands but it’s good to hear from of the best attackers out there speak so highly about the man we love: Virgil van Dijk.

Erling Haaland and Sergio Aguero have come out in the press during lockdown and spoken about how tough it is to play against the Dutchman.

Van Dijk has revolutionized the Liverpool defence since he arrived from Southampton, and we’ve helped him reach new heights in his game as well.

Aguero, who has a long record playing against the ex-Saint, dreads facing the man – while the new man on the scene Haaland faced Virg for Salzburg in the Champions League.

"“He’s strong, tall, has an incredible body,” Aguero was reported as saying in the Daily Mail.“He’s very strong face to face, he plays with his body. Also, given he is so tall, he has those long legs.”"

Haaland, who scored against Liverpool in the home leg of the Champions League group E, said similar about the man.

The Daily Star reported that the Borussia Dortmund man claimed van Dijk was the toughest defender he’s ever played against during an online Q+A.

The 19-year-old doesn’t have a huge amount of experience to go against, but it shows van Dijk’s quality if he’s giving this superstar-in-waiting a run for his money.

Liverpool fans already know how all about the Dutchman’s qualities, but we need articles like this to spread the word to the rest of the world.

Van Dijk is too good not be to appreciated just because he plays for one club, so I say thank you to Sergio Augero and Erling Haaland for their support in this matter.

Hopefully we can get back to playing football as soon as possible so we can concentrate on seeing him dominate on the field, and not just in socially distant interviews with top strikers.

The latest plan to get the Premier League back up and running includes hosting fixtures as far away as Australia, such is the desperation of the FA to see more action this season.
