Wonderkid ‘not too interested’ in move

A wonderkid that Liverpool have been linked with has said he’s ‘not too interested’ in hearing rumours about his future right now.

If the papers are to be believed, Liverpool are looking to build for the future in a number of key areas.

This is good, clearly, but it also shows the position of strength that Jurgen Klopp has the team in right now. Most of the players are in their peak years and as a result of that there’s not much space for new arrivals to work with.

We’ve got stars like Virgil van Dijk who aren’t going anywhere – while the favoured midfield three of Fabinho, Jordan Henderson and Georginio Wijnaldum are 26, 29 and 29.

That means that Klopp will be thinking in terms of the next three of four years as Henderson and Wijnaldum start to lose a bit of their natural fitness and enter a gradual decline, while Fabinho will start to approach his 30s.

All of that makes perfect sense when referenced with some of the midfielders Liverpool are targeting.

Eduardo Camavinga has made his breakthrough for Rennes this year but is still just 17-years-old and could be a natural heir to the throne of Hendo or Gini.

He’s played over 2,000 minutes of top flight football in France as well as four games in the Europa League as the midfielder has burst onto the scene.

This is exactly the type of person we’d want Michael Edwards to be tracking.

But there’s only one problem: Eduardo Camavinga isn’t interested in thinking about a move to Liverpool yet.

"They reported that he said: “I’m not thinking too much about [the interest].“It’s good that big clubs like those mentioned are interested in me, but I’m not too interested in that, especially because I’m happy at Rennes.”"

At least we’ve got a few years left to be able to tempt the wonderkid across to Anfield.

Winning the Premier League and continuing to be a force in the Champions League will send the right messages to all the club’s transfer targets.

And who wouldn’t want to work under Klopp?
