Liverpool midfielder Pedro Chirivella is learning from his mistakes, but has it come a few years too late for the youngster?
The Echo has reported that the Spaniard is going to turn down Liverpool’s latest contract offer in order to leave on a free and further his ambitions.
After spending the last seven years hardly playing for the Reds, Pedro Chirivella has come to the conclusion that he won’t become a regular in Jurgen Klopp’s midfield and will now leave in search of that football.
He should have done it two years ago.
At the end of July 2018, talkSPORT reported that Norwegian side Rosenborg had a bid accepted for the Spaniard and it appeared as if his Merseyside adventure would be coming to a conclusion.
However, by August of the same year the Echo were writing that Chirivella had decided to turn down the deal and would remain in England.
That decision backfired in the end as a loan deal to Extremadura was a pointless waste of time as the correct paperwork wasn’t filed and the midfielder ended up being stuck in limbo.

Chirivella made a handful of appearances this season in the cup competitions and generally impressed, but the midfield is the most competitive aspect of the squad and he was never going to break through on a regular basis.
So he’s decided to turn down Liverpool’s offer of a new five-year deal and leave on a free transfer when his current contract expires.
Chirivella has clearly decided to learn from his mistakes of the past by making the difficult decision to turn down an offer from Liverpool and strike out on his own.
Nantes and Rangers are rumoured to be interested in signing the midfielder and that doesn’t really come as much of a surprise because he’s shown his quality over the past few months.
Sadly for him, though, that quality won’t sustain a career at Anfield.
