Adama Traore to Liverpool? Not just yet
Adama Traore to Liverpool?
Wolves speedy winger has been linked with a move away from the Molineux in recent days and a former Wolves player has an interesting take on the situation.
Adama Traore has been linked to a move to Liverpool to play with Jurgen Klopp’s team. The pacey winger has contributed four goals and seven assists in 28 Premier League competitions this season thus far.
The former Barcelona player is known for his pace as well as his strength on the wings providing Wolves another attacking option to Raul Jimenez.
He uses his pace and his strength to outmuscle opponents to get down the field but also to get back and can help defend as well.
Former Wolverhampton Wolves midfielder Seyi Olofinjana, now first loans pathway manager for Wolves, made comments to Taiye Taiwo for Goal.com regarding Traore’s future at Wolverhampton.
"“Anybody can leave Wolves, he came from somewhere and he can leave any day. Regarding genuine transfer interest in our players, there are procedures and policies that we consider as a club, they tell us whether it is the right step for us or not.”"

It is an interesting take on the situation. While Traore would be a welcomed addition to the Liverpool squad with his physicality and his pace, I do not think it would be the right move for the side right now.
Liverpool is currently loaded at the winger position with Mo Salah, Sadio Mane, Xherdan Shaqiri and Divock Origi who has been deployed on the left-wing as well as Harvey Elliot.
All of these players besides Elliot are more established in the position and have made a more consistent contribution to their respective positions.
If Traore was more established and we knew this was not going to be a one and done a year as far as performance goes, then paying £70 million would not be a problem in my eyes.
But paying £70 million for someone who would most likely be on the bench as well as someone who has really only taken form this past year would be a large risk.
This is a risk Liverpool should not take at the moment.
