Liverpool star Mohamed Salah is the subject of trash talk.

Football fans on social media don’t talk a great amount of sense on the best of days, but the Mohamed Salah slur has got to be up there with the worst.

The Liverpool star has been one of the most feared forwards in the Premier League since he arrived from AS Roma, but that’s not enough for some Gunners.

According to a ludicrous tweet, their failing man Nicolas Pepe is a better player all round than the man who has scored 91 goals in 144 games for the Reds.

Our man reckons Pepe can dribble, pass, shoot and has more explosive power in the tank than the King.

Okay mate.

If that was the case, why has he only scored four goals this season, despite being a similar age to Salah when he arrived in England?

More from Rush The Kop

The Egyptian made the trip across the Channel three years ago, just after his 24th birthday. Pepe did the same, but they’ve had wildly contrasting fortunes for their teams and in front of goal.

Pepe does have six assists, which isn’t a bad record, but then again so does Salah and he didn’t cost £72 million.

It’s not cool to acknowledge greatness when they belong to other teams, but to try and say that Pepe is a better all round player than Salah is verging on madness.

Anyone with a set of eyes can tell that the Egyptian is so far away from the Ivory Coast international it’s not funny.

Salah is nearing Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo levels. He’s in that tier just below the two all-time legends. Pepe has yet to prove himself at Premier League level after a career spent in France with Angers and Lille.

Next. Timo Werner was an unnecessary risk. dark

Both might be similar in style but Mo is by far and away the better player. Don’t come at us with ludicruous statements like that.
