Liverpool are set to beat PSG to a £57 million deal.
There’s not much happening in the market right now, especially after the Timo Werner deal turned out to be dead in the water… for now.
Liverpool have got bigger fish to try anyway. They are trying to hit the ground running and finally win the Premier League, their first league win for 30 years, after the COVID-10 mandated suspension.
Just two victories will be enough, and if the 6-0 demolition of Blackburn Rovers is anything to go by, Jurgen Klopp’s side are going to hit the ground running.
And now they’ve just confirmed that they’ll be in the best possible place to do so.
Goal.com’s staff writers have reported that PSG had been interested in Virgil van Dijk, but that is due to be headed off thanks to a £57 million deal.

Only time will tell if Virgil van Dijk is worth the money, but right now Klopp can’t afford to lose their best players. This Premier League win will propel the club to new heights and allow for continued participation in, and ambition to win, highest honours.
It’s no surprise that PSG want to sign van Dijk. Since Qatar bought the club, they have been frustrated in their efforts to win the Champions League.
Bringing in the Dutchman would go a long way to satisfying those goals. Not only is the defender the world’s best, but he’s also an excellent leader who makes those around him play better.
Virgil van Dijk is also experienced at the highest level and is now a winner. Those are two assets that money can’t buy – as PSG.
But he’s a Liverpool player now, and hopefully forever more.
