Liverpool star Roberto Firmino has flirted with Philippe Coutinho.

Philippe Coutinho left Liverpool in January 2018 but that proved to be a mistake. The Brazilian played just 76 times for Barcelona, who signed him for £130.50 million at the start of the year.

A loan spell with Bayern has been slightly move successful, particularly this season, as Coutinho has scored eight goals and assisted six times in 22 Bundesliga appearances.

The struggles of Coutinho have been well documented and it appears as if the attacker is going to leave Barca when the transfer window opens again.

Liverpool have been linked as a possible destination for the Brazilian, and Roberto Firmino seems to endorse that move and has been flirting with the 28-year-old.

A staff writer for the Metro detailed how Firmino liked an Instagram post that talked about the links between the Reds and Coutinho.

According to that report, the former Anfield star will be willing to accept lower wages if it means returning to play under Jurgen Klopp.

Coutinho stared with the German as his manager, but ruined his Merseyside reputation with his behaviour in order to engineer a move to Barca. He wanted to win the Champions League in Spain, but saw those hopes smashed last season.

54 goals and 45 assists in 201 games show an elite attacker, but there is plenty of debate to be had about his suitability for a return.

Firmino was part of a front four that operated gloriously for six months. Alongside the two Brazilian, Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah provided the cut and thrust for the forward line while Coutinho added some guile and wizardry.

Will this deal ever go down? It would be a surprise for Liverpool to make a move back for Coutinho when the side seems to have moved on to such a great extent.

But with Klopp at the helm, nothing is impossible.
