Will Loris Karius get a second chance at Liverpool?
With Karius set to return to the fold next season, will he be able to see the field or should Liverpool let him go on transfer?
Loris Karius is back with Liverpool after he ended his loan with Turkish based club Besiktas but is unable to train until the official new start of the next season.
"In a recent article, he states: “It does not make sense to say I’m leaving Liverpool for a worse club and I’m only the number two there.”"
The German has not played for the Reds since his memorable night in the Champions League final against Real Madrid in 2018.
He would be loaned to Besiktas after Liverpool bought Alisson from A.S. Roma.
Karius made 67 appearances over two years for Besiktas but this was not without controversy.
In 2019, Karius sought legal action against Besiktas due to four months’ worth of unpaid wages. Only one year later would Karius terminate his contract because of unpaid wages.

While Karius has caused many Red fans pain and sorrow, he is a decent goalkeeper when he focuses and does not have a concussion. There were many games while at Besiktas where he kept them in the game due to his saves.
Liverpool now has Adrian has their No.2 goalkeeper and while Adrian has been a hero at moments during the season, especially while Alisson was hurt at the beginning of the year, there were often moments where you were questioning whether Adrian can continue to be the No.2 – especially after his performance in the FA Cup tie against Chelsea.
Not that Adrian is a bad goalie, but he was a good option for a year and as he is getting up in age, his performance might deteriorate. However, he will always be remembered for his heroics for his role in the UEFA Super Cup match against Chelsea.
Loris Karius could provide a good option behind Alisson and can provide better cover than Adrian in the FA Cup as well as the Carabao Cup.
Karius will have many times to prove himself int he preseason and hopefully, he will prove himself as a capable No.2 and prove to his haters he is a good goalie.
