Whether it’s his majestic cross-field passes, the crosses from the byline or the balls swung in from deep, Alexander-Arnold has the full repertoire in his locker.
As a Scouser and a proud Red, Trent doesn’t need educating on the importance of this fixture. Even though Goodison will be empty, we’d expect to see no less emotion or passion from the right-back.
Everton know they’ll have to shut him down in order to have any chance of winning the game, but that’s a lot easier said than done. There’s a reason Alexander-Arnold already has 12 assists this season: teams can’t stop him.
Carlo Ancelotti might try and get at him down his left flank and pin the defender back, but Jurgen Klopp’s midfield is designed to relieve pressure on his creative forces and that means Trent shouldn’t be forced back into his own half too much.
If Trent plays well, Liverpool are going to play well and that means they’ll probably win.
