In Zaha, they have got one of the most influential attackers in the Premier League. He might not have tons of goals and assists, but everything good that the Eagles do is directed through the forward.
He’s normally a right-winger but this season we’ve seen the Manchester United failure play out left or as a second striker. Everything good that Palace do, they do through Zaha.
Zaha might pop up everywhere on the field and that’s why van Dijk is going to be so important on Wednesday. He’s the General, he sets the standard, and when he plays well everyone else does.
Andy Robertson might not be available for the game, while Joe Gomez was left out of the starting XI for Everton. That means Gomez might have to play left-back and Dejan Lovren alongside van Dijk.
If that happens, Liverpool are going to need the Dutchman to be at his best and calm the rest of the back four. Whether Zaha is dribbling, running in behind or making space for others, he’s always a danger and Liverpool must be switched on for the entire 90 minutes.
