As previously mentioned, the performance in its entirety was not as awful as some seem to profess.

The Reds looked sharp – and this was the exact response we expected from the newly crowned champions.
Mane and Salah regularly got down the outside flanks, while Trent Alexander-Arnold continued to hit those searching long passes.
But when that first goal went in, the team just seemed to be so desperate to equalise that they lost their shape and starting playing with the frantic energy of someone 1-0 down with two minutes left.
This gave City a massive chance to extend the lead, while some sloppy passing from Roberto Firmino and finishing from Mane made this a game to endure rather than enjoy.
Play like we did in the first 20 against Villa and things will go well, but if we decide to play as fast-and-lose as we did during the rest of the game it could spell trouble.
To recap, good opening stage but can we null and void the other 70?
