But Klopp made sure to include the Guinea international as he made appearances off the bench against Crystal Palace and Manchester City.
Keita was handed his chance on Sunday and didn’t disappoint. The former RB Leipzig man has looked fitter than ever and is starting to look like the man we thought we might get when he signed two years ago.
His assist might have looked easy but it required a high level of technical ability to pull off and the fact that Keita was bursting forward into these areas is promising in of itself.
After so many false dawns, this could be the moment the 25-year-old finally comes into his own. The coronavirus break may have got the midfielder back to full fitness and ready to go.
With five games left this season, Keita has a great chance to add to his 13 Premier League appearances and finish on a real high. If he does that, there could be real pressure applied to the favoured midfield three of Fabinho, Henderson and Wijnaldum.
