Reds need Raul Jimenez to spark static Roberto Firmino into life
Liverpool need to sign Raul Jimenez to spark Roberto Firmino into life.
Jurgen Klopp and Liverpool need to utilize the transfer market this summer to motivate and push Roberto Firmino to break his goal drought.
He hasn’t scored since January, and he hasn’t scored a home goal this entire campaign. We’ve all heard and read the discussions about Firmino.
What he brings to the side just can’t be measured by goals scored. His presence in the side is the fulcrum that makes Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah even more threatening.
There has been a lot made recently of how Manchester United have a strong front three in Anthony Martial, Marcus Rashford, and Mason Greenwood and that these three have scored more goals this campaign than the much lauded Liverpool front three.
This is a direct reflection of the lack of scoring output from the Reds’ forward. And this situation just can’t continue into the fall and another campaign. It just won’t work any more.
So FSG and the transfer committee need to motivate him by signing a a player who can push Firmino to keep his starting role. Raul Jimenez fits this bill as well as anyone available this summer in the transfer market. A far better value dollar for dollar than Timo Werner.

Jimenez is a physically challenging striker, and he has finesse and quickness to match Firmino stride for stride. And his ruthlessness in finishing these past two campaigns for Wolves speaks for itself. We’ve previously written about their similarities, and as the season’s gone on they’ve only strengthened.
His current valuation is €44m, and FSG should seriously consider purchasing him at the earliest possible opportunity. He is also on the radar at Manchester United, and other European sides.
His 18 goals and seven assists this campaign see him in the best form of his career. Here in the States he is very familiar as the star of a Mexico national side that have humiliated team USA on more than one occasion in recent ties.
He also spearheaded the thorough thrashing of 2014 World Cup champions Germany at the 2018 World Cup.
An experienced number 9, he has played club football in European competition and at the National team level.
Without a strong challenge to his starting role, Roberto Firmino will most likely remain static and will not progress beyond his value and worth to Klopp’s side at present. Liverpool can no longer afford to field a forward who is not consistently on the scoresheet.
