Liverpool have offered Victor Osimhen lucrative terms.

This news comes hot on the heels of reports that seemed to suggest a surprise ‘final agreement’ was in the works between Lille and Liverpool.

Victor Osimhen is a 21-year-old forward that can play across the front three, and has spent just one season playing in the French top flight.

His rise has been rapid and shows no signs of slowing down. Wolfsburg brought him to Germany from Nigeria, before Belgian side Charleroi signed him. Following one, successful, season for Charleroi, he was bought by Lille.

The rest is history.

Italian source Il Mattino are saying Liverpool are determined to beat Napoli to his signature and have offered a bumper £122,000-a-week deal to the forward in order to do so.

However, there could be a bump in the road. Get French Football News has reported that the starlet has passed his medical with the Naples outfit. However, there are outstanding details to be agreed, said the source.

This could still give Liverpool a way to ferret their way into this deal and trump Napoli at the last moment. Aside from the big contract, who would need much motivation to play for Jurgen Klopp?

Playing time might be one concern. The last two seasons have seen Osimhen as the star man for whichever side he was turning out for.

He has 13 goals and five assists for Lille in Ligue 1, which followed up his impressive 20 strike debut campaign in Belgium. Osimhen wouldn’t get that same level of opportunity under Klopp.

But at 21, it would be a fantastic opportunity for him to learn from two of the world’s best in his position, be coached by the world’s best and challenge for the world’s best titles.

One day, he’ll be primed to take over from Sadio Mane or Mohamed Salah and be the world’s best.
