Liverpool have been beaten to Ferran Torres.
The Reds have been linked with the Valencia starlet, but he’s signed a five-year deal with one of Jurgen Klopp’s biggest rivals.
Liverpool won the league by a huge margin and claimed 99 points, and this has spurred the rest of the top flight on and it doesn’t look like they’ll be wasting any time in the transfer market.
While Klopp has said goodbye to Adam Lallana and Dejan Lovren, Manchester City are busy preparing for another big summer.
A report by Goal journalists Jonathan Smith and Kerry Hau has reported that City are confident of signing Ferran Torres from anywhere between £27 million and £36 million while personal terms have been agreed.
Pep Guardiola has already moved to strengthen the squad after Leroy Sane moved to Bayern Munich, while City will also lose David Silva.
Luckily, Liverpool have no such worries. There’s not much danger Sadio Mane, Roberto Firmino or Mohamed Salah will be off and Klopp’s squad looks incredibly settled.

Lovren’s departure will mean a central defender is required while Sepp van den Berg and Ki-Jana Hoever improve.
Jan Vertonghen has been mentioned by fans as a short-term solution, and he is available on a free after Tottenham released the Belgian.
Simon Jones at the MailOnline has linked Liverpool with Schalke starlet Ozan Kabak. They are another club in financial difficulties, just like Torres’s Valencia, and may be forced to sell their prime assets.
Torres has scored four goals and registered five assists in 34 La Liga games, while he also featured six times in the Champions League – scoring two and assisting two.
Despite being just 20, the forward has already made 97 appearances for Valenica but is nearing the end of his contract and will be sold while his value is still fairly high.
