Liverpool transfer target Lloyd Kelly is loved by Martin Keown.
The former Arsenal defender was talking about the Bournemouth defender, who has been linked with a move to Anfield.
Lloyd Kelly can play at left-back or as a central defender, and that makes him an attractive player. He is also good, though, which is pretty important – and Keown has compared him to Aston Villa star Tyrone Mings.
Mings also played for Bournemouth and suffered his own injury problems before being moved on to Aston Villa. Like Lloyd, the England defender has also operated as a left-back.
HITC writer Subhankar Mondal reported that Kelly has impressed the pundit whenever he’s watched him play football.
"Keown said: “Lloyd Kelly has immensely impressed me in the few games that he has played. I saw him play for the England Under-21s earlier in the season, he is similar to Tyrone Mings, but actually he seems more mature.”"
The Cherries man has had a tough time in the Premier League. When the defender arrived from Bristol City in the summer, big things were expected but early injuries put paid to that and we had to wait until after the restart to see the best of Kelly.
He’s played just eight times in 2019/2020, but we can expect to see bigger things from him in the future.

Could that be with Liverpool?
Dejan Lovren’s departure means sporting director Michael Edwards is probably looking for another defender right now, while Kelly’s ability to play as a left-back is also attractive.
His former manager Eddie Howe was impressed by his versatility – and said Kelly can play either position to a high level.
"The Express journalist Tony Banks reported that he said: “I think both positions for us at the moment. I wouldn’t say one or the other – he can play both very well.”"
Liverpool haven’t completed any transfers and that’s making some fans a little bit edgy. Their finances might have taken a hit after the COVID-19 induced shutdown, but things are going well commercially.
The new Nike kit has been released and demand has been massive, but they’ve not been without criticism. The pricing has been set fairly high, but if that can contribute to a new signing then fans will probably be appeased by that.
Will Liverpool move for Lloyd Kelly? He’d be fairly cheap, come with potential but has hardly any Premier League experience and wouldn’t be able to attack as well as Andy Robertson.
