We’ve seen some insane Liverpool tranfer rumours.

Joel Matip to PSG? This one is a real knee slapper! What an outright laugher, to be sure!  From a Liverpool perspective, this makes absolutely no sense. If deep pocketed PSG want to pay £75m over market for the lanky center back, then Liverpool should entertain this sale.

This would allow them to make a big bold offer for Kalidou Koulibaly from Napoli – which has set a reported £81m price for him to leave this summer. Not likely, on it’s face.

Another PSG rumor in the mix is their reported interest in Thiago Alcantara. Good I say, let ‘em have him. I hope Jurgen and the transfer committee are listening to John Barnes on this one. His cost will be far more in the long run to the Reds, than the £30m plus price tag set by the Bavarian giants.

For this amount, Klopp can get both Aissa Mandi from Real Betis, and Konstantinos Tsimikas from Okympiacos. This is a no-brainer, actually.

Aston Villa apparently have shown an interest in acquiring Divock Origi? This would only make sense, possibly (and I say possibly with a great deal of caution), if Rhian Brewster does not go back out on loan to Swans. It makes no sense to me to sell a player to a league rival.

They should have learned this lesson the hard way with the Raheem Sterling sale to Manchester City.

Arsenal are apparently also interested in the services of Mandi from Real Betis. The Reds have reportedly proffered a £10m offer for the defender. Liverpool can ill afford to get into a bidding war with Gunners in this transfer climate. This will be one to watch.

There is a rumor swirling out of Greece and Olympiacos, that the Reds have scouted left back Konstantinos Tsimikas as a possible back-up for Andrew Robertson. This is also one to keep an eye on, as the Reds desperately need a quality left back option to spell the crafty, pugnacious Scot.

Liverpool have relied on James Milner to fill in this past campaign. Neco Williams has been slotted in here as well on at least one instance. Jordan Henderson, Gini Wijnaldum and Joe Gomez have also spelled in here for Robbo on occasion. Williams is a natural right-back and should be left there to relieve Trent Alexander-Arnold when necessary.

This is a pressing need for Klopp and the Reds, so keep an eye on this as the situation continues to develop.

Once again, I would advise caution going forward in this strange transfer climate. If Mandi and Tsimikas can be brought in for a combined expense of say under £20m, then this should be considered good business by the Reds.

Liverpool announce new signing and people aren’t happy. dark. Next

Selling on Matip is just not an option Liverpool should entertain this summer. Likewise, off-loading Origi to a league rival makes absolutely no sense from the Reds point of view.
