This Liverpool player has made a shocking claim about the club’s goalkeeper.

Liverpool’s goalkeeper had a far from impressive outing against Aston Villa. Adrian’s performance was the latest in a line of disappointing performances for the Reds. From a howler against Chelsea to his fatal pass against Atletico Madrid, the Spaniard hasn’t given himself any favours.

His performance against Aston Villa has led to many fans calling for Adrian’s axe from the first team.

Klopp is no stranger to goalkeeper problems. He begun his career with the likes of Simon Mignolet and Adam Bogdan committing errors. Then it was Loris Karius in the Champions League final.

However, Alisson Becker’s arrival seemed to have solved the German coach’s problems. Nonetheless, with the Brazilian goalkeeper’s frequent injuries, Adrian has been given more and more game time.

And that has brought Liverpool under scrutiny once more.

Klopp’s challenge isn’t easy. It is hard to inspire a goalkeeper lacking in confidence, especially with such little time left to prepare for a huge clash against Everton at the weekend.

Klopp won’t be helped by the latest comment made by one of his players.

Marko Grujic took to Instagram via the Independent to voice his critique of his teammate Adrian.

Speaking about Aston Villa forward Ollie Watkins, the Serbian midfielder said the following:

‘He probably ended Adrian’s career.’

The cruel remark will be a bitter one for Liverpool supporters and it is a bad indictment on Marko Grujic’s morale.

The Serbian, who is currently on loan at FC Porto, enjoyed an amicable performance against Arsenal in the EFL Cup just days before Adrian’s performance against Aston Villa.

Grujic’s harsh remarks could put an even bigger dent in Adrian’s spirit and while there may be some partial truth in the Serbian’s comments, it should never have been voiced by someone of his ilk.

As a teammate, even though Grujic is on loan at Porto, the Serbian should be supporting Adrian and helping the Spaniard’s morale.

By making such comments, Grujic is further jeopardising the club’s goalkeeper and Jurgen Klopp will be seething with rage.

One thing for sure, the Serbian probably doesn’t have a long term future at Anfield.
