Liverpool have their replacement ready.

Liverpool’s Egyptian winger will have a special place on the Kop. His record-breaking antics and sheer brilliance has brought the club the biggest titles and an impressive trophy hoard. Mohamed Salah is a genius.

His name will be up there with the very best until the end of times. From his record-breaking Premier League season to the abundance of goals and assists he has scored for the club.

Once again this season the Egyptian striker looks unstoppable. He darts and weaves through thickets of defenders as if they aren’t even there. One moment, one lapse in concentration and he cuts through your defence like a knife through butter.

His potent shooting is deadly. From outside the box or inside the box you cannot give him an opportunity to take fire because he will score.

No one would have fathomed that the diminutive winger would have such major success after arriving at Anfield, but under Jurgen Klopp’s stewardship Salah has been moulded into one of the best players of our generation.

His name is in the club’s folklore now.

However, while Mohamed Salah certainly  hasn’t shown signs of slowing down there will come a time when he does. He is not infallible or omnipotent after all. The ravages of time will catch up with Mohamed Salah’s legs too.

The fans will be hoping it will happen deep into his mid-thirties. However the club will have to prepare and concoct a plan to ensure they are ready to replace the Egyptian and do not suffer from his plight or potential departure.

And Jurgen Klopp might already have the perfect candidate to replace the Egyptian star with.

Harvey Elliott.

The 17 year old arrived at the club last summer. A boyhood supporter of the Reds, Elliott has looked impressive in the first team last season despite his tender age.

He has the same guile and agility as Salah, and the same penchant for cutting in from the wing and unleashing a shot on goal.

This season Harvey Elliott is out on loan at Blackburn Rovers and he has already started the campaign brightly. He netted on his second match for Blackburn and registered an assist.

The way he skips past players and has a knack for finding the back of the net, sometimes with outrageous finishes is certainly reminiscent of Mohamed Salah.

In a few years time with more experience under his belt, Harvey Elliott will be perfectly positioned to take on the mantle from the Egyptian.

Do you think Harvey Elliott could be Mohamed Salah’s replacement in the long term?
